Small Scale Knitting

When Amarni-Jade was born I knitted a small jumper which managed to be ready to be worn for her first winter (small miracle).  Two years later I see she still manages to squeeze into that first jumper but I decided it was my nana duty to knit another item.

With her being a very hot kind of kid I thought a vest would be a good option - not having to knit any sleeves was a bonus!  So some wool and patterns were bought and away I went.

I chose some variegated wool designed to create patterned stripes as you knitted, and a simple pattern for a sleeved jumper that I figured would be easy to remove the sleeves (here I am thinking I'm a knitting expert 😂😂) and knit a small band instead.  I knitted the front and back at the same time - the boat neck meant no shaping at all, just a couple of rectangles with slightly fancy bands top and bottom.

Anyway - a week and a half from start to finish and here we are:

Complete with messy washing pile (some things never change) - she seemed quite happy with the results despite the face 😂.  I might need to sew the neckline slightly smaller but other than that, I think this first experiment has been successful.
