Still around... Still sewing

I love reading through old blog posts and think to myself - gee, you're quite entertaining 😂😂 - why don't I blog??  For something that I have enjoyed doing for so long, I find myself somewhat perplexed by the fact I never seem to do it anymore.  Instagram immediacy has taken over the mindset.  And yet blogging and the crafting blog community was my happy place (and got me through many years of parenting and general life in an isolated rural environment).

Definitely time for an update!

On the home front - we still have both kids living at home.  Nadia has just started renting a small tiny home for her family (partner and child).  Dylan is still in the sleep out.

My design wall is just as chaotic as ever...

I am attempting a new sewing caddy.

This old project finally got finished and is currently on the bed.  I absolutely love these old Denyse Schmidt fabrics and how the quilt design is both scrappy and calm at the same time.

You're back! My husband did a motorcycle tour of New Zealand in January and is doing it again with another friend in February 2026. In 2027 he wants me to join him for an RV trip. My husband absolutely loves New Zealand. The dreaded flight of 13 hours is the only thing that has held me back. So hopefully I will make it to your lovely country one day. Great to see you are still quilting. I don't blog as often and mainly do it to keep an official record of what I've accomplished.

Lovely to have you back Suz! I barely even look at Instagram (and I have 3 accounts!) these days-too many ads, too many old posts, too many posts that don't interest me. I look at the stories at the top, a quick look at those I follow then close it for the day! I've always loved that DS fabric quilt, and dream of making one myself. Maybe I should bite the bullet, buy some background fabric and go for it! Happy sewing!

Oh it would be so cool if you came to New Zealand. There's not a heap of patchwork shops but enough scattered around to make it interesting. I do follow you on Instagram too 😍.
